Review: Sixty One Whitehall, London 10th Oct 09

Hi all. Sixty One Whitehall is set in the political heartland and primarily used for conferences but is now establishing itself as a wedding venue. With the Prime Ministers residence on the other side of the road, Big Ben and the Houses Of Parliment just a 2 minute stroll away you are certainly booking a unique venue in a swish part of London. After your reception comes to an end your guests will then have the opportunity to move onto one of the many nearby clubs on the embankment or take in the illuminated sights and sounds of the City with the big wheel, trafalgar square and Picadilly all just a stones throw away. As a wedding venue its perfect, upon your arrival you and your guests will enjoy a drinks reception in the library upstairs before moving down to the wedding beakfast which is a round shaped room. The wedding breakfast room was stunning with its high ceiling and classy curtains. For your disco i would reccomend a classy discreet set up with some uplighting around the sides. There is no permanent bar inside so you will need to hire one in or ask the catering company to arrange this. The only tricky aspect from a suppliers point of view is that like so many of the London venues there is no parking. Unloading on Whitehall isnt the easiest thing to do as there is a lot of Police activity due to the location, anyone stopping in that area with a van is most likely to be subject to being questioned under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, but from the wedding parties point of view these things dont cause an issue. All in all, I would say if your looking for something classy but with a laid back feel then go for it!
