Review: Frimley Hall Hotel, Surrey 17th Oct 09

Wow, what a venue and what a night! This was the penultimate wedding gig before the Christmas festive season gets underway and what a way to virtually tie up a wonderful year of gigs at the celebration of marriage of Emma and Curtis Dowling who had previously wed in Barbados.
Emma went for the mood lighting option which set a lovely ambience early in the evening for the guests and when the party kicked off at 930pm it went off in a big way, check out the video posted on the site..
I tore straight into a 90s set of classics including Dee-Lite, Bizarre Inc, Frankie Knuckles, Alison Limerick, Energy 52, Nomad and so on, the evening ended prematurely due to hotel timing restraints or we would have been going on half the night i reckon lol. It was one of those nights that you never want to end, a lovely down to earth bride and groom and a great bunch of guests totally up for a real party..
The venue was a beautful setting, the dance area was perfect and the acoustics once again fantastic. Highly recommended to anyone getting married in the area. BTW, when you leave the venue you need to get a code before you leave the hotel to get out the gate lol..

Review: Chobham Golf Club, Surrey 16th Oct 09

The Montgomerie Suite is the perfect venue for your engagement, wedding or birthday party. The mood lighting video on the website show the party room in its full glory with Choice Entertainments additional lighting service. Whats really good about Chobham Golf Club is that on arrival you feel like you have arrived at a very nice venue, its probably very reasonable to hire but feels quite exclusive. The balcony adjaceant to the dancefloor overlooks the car park and is a nice feature, and particularly good for smokers as you dont have to leave the party room to have a cigarette. The room itself is nice and roomy with tables to the side of the dancefloor, an attractive looking bar and seated back area for guests who would prefer time to chat. What was also mentioned to me was that on arrival the mood lighting was clearly visible from the car park which illuminated the alcoves. These little touches can transform even the nicest of venues.

Review: Sixty One Whitehall, London 10th Oct 09

Hi all. Sixty One Whitehall is set in the political heartland and primarily used for conferences but is now establishing itself as a wedding venue. With the Prime Ministers residence on the other side of the road, Big Ben and the Houses Of Parliment just a 2 minute stroll away you are certainly booking a unique venue in a swish part of London. After your reception comes to an end your guests will then have the opportunity to move onto one of the many nearby clubs on the embankment or take in the illuminated sights and sounds of the City with the big wheel, trafalgar square and Picadilly all just a stones throw away. As a wedding venue its perfect, upon your arrival you and your guests will enjoy a drinks reception in the library upstairs before moving down to the wedding beakfast which is a round shaped room. The wedding breakfast room was stunning with its high ceiling and classy curtains. For your disco i would reccomend a classy discreet set up with some uplighting around the sides. There is no permanent bar inside so you will need to hire one in or ask the catering company to arrange this. The only tricky aspect from a suppliers point of view is that like so many of the London venues there is no parking. Unloading on Whitehall isnt the easiest thing to do as there is a lot of Police activity due to the location, anyone stopping in that area with a van is most likely to be subject to being questioned under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, but from the wedding parties point of view these things dont cause an issue. All in all, I would say if your looking for something classy but with a laid back feel then go for it!
